Project summary:

The proposed project aims to explore the intricate interplay between technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and human interaction. This involves a blend of AI-generated artworks and traditional methods, investigating how advancements in technology and AI can shape our perception of reality and its dimensions. By integrating technologies like sensors and image targeting, the project seeks to stimulate reflection and discourse on the evolving connection between humans, art, and technology. At its core, the project poses the question of using technology and AI-generated imagery to expand the dimensions of traditional print, enabling it to convey both simple and complex narratives to audiences.

The project's goals encompass the production of a varied body of work, that challenging ideas of traditional printmaking and the audience experience. Dissemination through exhibitions, publications, and presentations intends to engage a broader audience, encouraging exploration of printmaking and contemporary image-making practices. Anticipated outcomes include the evolution of novel printmaking techniques informed by technology and AI, exhibitions showcasing the convergence of technology, AI, and contemporary practice, and publications to share research findings. The project also aspires to deepen the understanding of the relationship between traditional printmaking and contemporary art within the context of emerging technologies.

Participation in the AA2A program offers the means to develop this work ambitiously and sustainably. The program provides essential access to equipment, space, and materials required to extend the project's themes. Embracing hybridity across disciplines and engaging with diverse production methods will enhance the manifestation of ideas and foster new audience interactions. Collaborative discussions with technicians and researchers, a significant facet of AA2A, will play a pivotal role in refining the work. The program's interdisciplinary environment will enable the migration of artistic work across traditional boundaries, nurturing conversations and collaborations.

Moreover, the project aims to foster personal growth by grappling with the ethical and societal implications of AI in image creation. Overall, the project is a creative journey that aims to reshape my personal approach to printmaking while delving into the dynamic realm of technology, AI, and what it is to be a creative human in an evolving world.
